Your basic
Raffle... With a TWIST |
| |
| We've all seen and
most likely participated in traditional raffles to raise money for a
cause. You purchase a ticket - or maybe lots of tickets - and stick them
in the pot for a prize, hoping you will win. Everyone's secretly
desiring the same thing, with their hearts all set on the same prize. |
| |
|
Most of us don't
win such raffles - the odds are too much against it. The best way to win
is to lower the odds. To do that, you need a different kind of raffle.
Enter the TWISTED RAFFLE, which will again be featured at this year's
Owensboro PumpkinFest. |

But How
Does It Work?
|
| |
| Sharrie Cinnamond,
Twisted Raffle organizer, explains. "Usually you buy chances for one
item. In this raffle, you select which prizes you want to win."
Interested participants may look at the a large variety of items (from
tools to toys and everything in between) and select which items they're
interested in. Once they decide, they can buy numbered tabs and toss
them into the jar sitting by the item they desire. Tabs are only $5.00
for 12 and you can buy as many as you want. This helps your chances of
getting that item you have your eyes on. |
| |
| There will be
upwards of 50 items or more this year, many of which have been donated
by local businesses. |
| |
|
The drawing for
the prizes will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, September 28th at the
Sportscenter. Winners do NOT have to be present to win and may pick up
their prizes the next day. |
| |
|
The Twisted
Raffle, which will be held inside the Sportscenter's main corridor, will
be open throughout the 2007 Owensboro PumpkinFest until the drawing. |
