Friday, September 26th

"PumpkinFest Street Dance Night"

70s and 80s Dance Band

 

2008 marks the second year for this band. Don't let the funny spelling fool you, this is a serious bunch of musicians who know how to groove, covering your favorite dance-friendly hits of the 70s and 80s and of course the disco era.

THE VELVET BOMBERS
American Rock n Soul, Classic Sounds
 

Owensboro's premier dance band. Climb into the Velvet Bombers' new airmobile and put the top down. You can sit there and enjoy the ride in fine upholstered comfort, or get up and move around if so inclined. There's plenty of leg room, and the radio picks up signals from Memphis, Detroit, Chicago, Liverpool, and Central City.

If you have listened to live music in Owensboro any time over the past fifteen years, chances are you have heard Sundown. Their enormous song list, incredible harmonies, and all around good showmanship make this a great band for all ages.

INSULATED
Classic Rock
Even though they are still in high school, Insulated has been together for 5 years. This cover band plays anything from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Grand Funk Railroad and Pantera to All American Rejects.

AIRLINE BLONDE
70s and 80s Classic Hits
 

Make sure your tray tables are in the upright position and your seatbelts are fastened because it’s going to be a rockin’ ride. Airline Blonde will have you dancing in the aisles with hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

Classic Progressive and
Pop Rock
 
This marks the second appearance at the Owensboro PumpkinFest. Comprised of veteran musicians from the Louisville music scene, Alpha Q plays an eclectic, unique mix of radio-friendly/MTV classic rock. They will groove to retro and have you dancing to the best of today’s sounds.

Relic is a four piece band based in Louisville, Kentucky, stamping their trademark on the bluegrass music scene. Drawing from an array of influences, Relic creates a new, distinctive approach to the traditions of Bluegrass, THE definitive American folk genre.

Classic Country, Folk Rock
 
Wildman has been regional favorite for years performing with a number of the area's top musicians, including Randy Lanham. The Owensboro PumpkinFest is proud to have his unique mix of country, rock, and folk classics as part of the 2008 event.
